Sutton Brook, Hilton

This superb tributary of the Dove is owned by the society and was regularly stocked with brown trout in the past.

Trout and grayling are numerous here and traditional fly fishing techniques are still practiced here as the excellent reputation of this river as a game venue lives on, there was once an unofficial rule that it was to be fished dry fly only and any other method was frowned upon as cheating.

Despite the game fishing legacy of the venue coarse species are also present and chub to over five pounds are not uncommon and a rare barbel approaching double figures is achievable with a venue record of twelve pounds plus caught many years ago.
